Flowers Around Town in July

It's definitely summer and here comes the sun - flowers that is
at the veterinary hospital on Spring Mills Road, bright yellow
as they stretch up. Facility was once a barn, hence the silo.
A garden next to the IGA, sort of shoehorned in by the home's garage with masses of
prairie cone flower, Echinacea purpurea, cultivars in both pink and white. Just lovely.
There's also a rose mallow, Hibiscus moscheutos, with its dark eyed rose pink flowers.
Fortunately there's not much traffic on Harrison Street in Frenchtown as I drive
slowly down the street, pause to snap a picture of a summer viburnum out my window.
The one car - which had been a block or more behind me - has caught up.
I'll be quick. But I do want to photograph this massive white flowered crape myrtle.
New Jersey is more than big cities, highways and Newark airport. I have nieghbors
with sheep and other livestock. Nearby cornfield are beginning to show tasseling. And
fields are being cut for hay. It is summer now but winter will come in its turn. The animals
will need fed. A field on Ridge Road with oversize round bales shows prudent preparation.
